05. BEFORE WORDS.
some things have always been easier said with flowers.
Flowers are one of our oldest ways of communicating thought and feeling…
Long before a message could be typed, sent, seen and answered within seconds, people were already using flowers to say something to one another.
Affection.
Gratitude.
Celebration.
Regret.
Sympathy.
Love.
Sometimes because the words were difficult to find…
Sometimes because the words simply weren’t enough.
That hasn’t really changed.
A bouquet can say I thought of you...
A flower stand can say I’m proud of you...
Flowers at a farewell can say something when almost nothing feels appropriate to say.
Perhaps that is why, after all this time, we still send them.
Not because flowers replace words…
But because sometimes, they express a sentiment better than words ever could.
Flowers speak, too.
