08. NO TWO ARE THE SAME.

nature never promised us identical.

Flowers are natural things…
That sounds obvious.

But somewhere between photographs, screens and online shopping, it became easy to expect every flower to look exactly like the one before it.

They don’t…

A rose may open differently from the rose beside it.
A hydrangea may arrive with a slightly different shade.
A stem may curve when another grows perfectly straight.

Even flowers from the same bunch can have their own little peculiarities….
And I think that’s part of their beauty.

As florists, we don’t manufacture identical pieces….

We work with what nature gives us.
We choose.
We turn.
We trim.
We substitute when something isn’t available or isn’t good enough…

And sometimes… we change the arrangement slightly because the flowers themselves tell us that it will look better another way.

The intention remains.
The colour, proportion, character and feeling remain.

But the flowers?

They are allowed to be flowers.
Perhaps that is why an arrangement made by hand can never be completely repeated.

And perhaps it shouldn’t be…

same feeling. never quite the same flowers.
